  • Sales Director (Federal, US)

    Do you want to join a small and agile team where you can make a difference in a global high-tech company? We’re looking for a highly motivated Sales Director capable of playing an integral role in the success of the overall sales team and developing relationships with a variety of different partners. 
     
    This position requires you to be based in the US, preferably in the DC area. 

     

    Position Overview 

    In this position, your responsibilities and duties are divided into three key categories: 

    • Sales planning 
    • Sales execution  
    • Relationship management 

    How will we measure your success in this role? 

    • Achieved territory invoiced revenue targets 
    • Achieved lead generation targets for the territory 
       

    Key Responsibilities  

    Sales Planning 

    • Owner of the territory sales plan, including 
    • Key accounts / prospects identified  
    • Key local partners / new partner prospects identified 
    • Documented plans for each key Account / prospect 
    • Documented plan for lead generation  
    • Documented plan per partner, including enablement, training, and GTM activities (applicable only for territories without a dedicated Channel Manager) 
    • Recognizes trends, opportunities, and issues and suggests improvements related to sales in regular feedback sessions with Management 

     

    Sales Execution 

    • Executes the territory sales plan and achieves the sales budget for the territory. This includes the following responsibilities.  
    • Responsible for all commercial discussions, pricing, and negotiations with customers and partners in the territory 
    • Responsible for the full engagement cycle for key accounts (high touch sales), including arranging customer meetings, running demonstrations, and taking ownership of POCs (Sales Engineers could be given delegated responsibility for POCs.) 
    • Responsible for tracking and reporting purchase order status when deals are closed 
    • Responsible for all partner-led business within the territory 
    • Perform cold calling on new prospects 
    • Responsible for protecting and growing stream revenue from existing customers in the territory 
    • Responsible for renewals in the territory 
    • Manages engagements through technical alliances (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft) 
    • Participates in weekly sales reviews and provides forecast vs budget for the territory  
    • Responsible for ensuring that the sales management tool (HubSpot) is always up to date with correct deal values, close dates, contacts, and notes for all the territory’s deals 

     

    Relationship Management 

    • Acts as the Synergy SKY Go-To-Person in the territory, for customers, partners, and technical alliances (in territories with a dedicated Channel Manager, the CM will be the focal point for partners) 
    • Manages customer expectations and customer satisfaction (applicable only for territories without a dedicated Customer Success Manager) 
    • Responsible for following up on existing accounts and delivery to ensure satisfaction and business continuity  
    • Addresses customer satisfaction issues to a responsible company function 
    • Travels for in-person meetings with strategic customers and partners to develop and maintain key relationships 
    • Builds close relationships with key strategic customers and customer prospects 
    • Builds close relationships with key partners, with executives, sales teams, and technical teams (teaming with Channel Manager, in territories where that role exists) 

     

    Required Skill Sets & Experience 

    • At least 5 years of experience and excellence in a sales role in the Unified Communications industry is required 
    • Significant knowledge base and in-depth understanding of both Sales and Channels dynamics 
    • A strong personal network of customer and partner relationships within the territory is required 
    • A personal network within technology alliances such as Cisco and Microsoft is optimal 
    • A strategic thinker with effective communication & influence skills
